The 2025 U.S.-African Business Summit took place in Luanda, Angola, between 22 and 25 June.

The summit was hosted by the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) in collaboration with the Government of Angola. Africell, one of Angola’s two main mobile brands and the only U.S.-owned mobile network operator in Africa, was official telecommunications partner.

The summit consisted of a wide-ranging programme of talks, exhibits, dinners and shows. A social highlight was the invitation-only dinner hosted by Africell, the CCA and the U.S. Embassy in Angola, at which guests were served fine dining inspired by Sierra Leone and treated to live music performances from each of Africell’s operating markets. The annual Africell Luanda Art Fair opened its doors on the day that the summit itself concluded.

A recurring theme of the core programme was the Lobito Corridor. Attendees were given an exclusive preview of the trailer of Lobito-Bound, a forthcoming feature-length documentary about the Lobito Corridor, and Africell’s CEO, Ziad Dalloul, starred during a sold-out panel discussion about connectivity along the Lobito Corridor.

According to the U.S. State Department, the 2025 U.S.-Africa Business Summit yielded announcements of $2.5 billion in planned projects in Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone and Rwanda.  A statement released after the conclusion of the event said: “The U.S. objective at the Summit was to secure key deals and commitments for U.S. companies and establish the conditions to boost U.S. exports and investment in Africa — advancing mutual prosperity in line with the Trump Administration’s Commercial Diplomacy Strategy for Africa.”
