Ziad Dalloul, Africell’s CEO, President and Founder, appeared on the mainstage at the inaugural Semafor World Economy summit in Washington D.C., speaking about developments in African telecommunications as part of ‘The Next Era in Innovation’ thematic track.
Semafor World Economy was held in Washington D.C. at the same time as the IMF-World Bank Spring Meeting. The summit featured five hundred CEOs, scores of government officials and half of President Trump’s cabinet, and was designed to be both a measure and a driver of cutting-edge ideas and narratives in global economic and political affairs.
Ziad was joined onstage by Adel Al-Saleh, CEO of SES Satellites, where Alexis Akwagyiram, Managing Editor of Semafor Africa, interviewed them on subjects including the challenges of providing rural connectivity in Africa and how telcos and satellite firms can do more to collaborate.
