Africell was proud to participate in and sponsor the 3rd DRC–Angola Economic Forum, held in Kinshasa on 1–2 April 2026 at the Golden Tulip Hotel.
Held under the patronage of President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo of the DRC and President João Manuel Lourenço of Angola, and opened by DRC Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka, the forum brought together senior government officials, private sector leaders, and industry experts to advance the theme of “Sub-regional Integration and the Development of Cross-border Trade.”
Discussions focused on opportunities in agriculture, energy, and hydrocarbons, alongside priorities including financial transaction facilitation, trade security, and the development of the ‘Lobito Corridor’, a U.S.-backed railway route connecting the DRC province of Lualaba with Angola’s deepwater port of Lobito, and about which Africell last year released a feature documentary. Key contributions came from DRC Minister of Economy Daniel Mukoko Samba and Angola’s Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano.
As a telecommunications operator with an active presence in both the DRC and Angola, Africell used the forum to reaffirm its commitment to supporting regional economic integration and the growth of cross-border trade between the two countries.
