Africell was among the most prominent brands at ANGOTIC 2026, one Africa’s most important tech expos, drawing thousands of visitors to its stand through a combination of cutting-edge technology, live entertainment, and interactive experiences.
The Africell space came alive with FIFA competitions, prize giveaways, and other activations, with a particularly strong response from younger audiences. The energy was amplified by the presence of well-known personalities including Leonel Martins, Bulusinha, Cleyton M, and Liu Kid, who contributed to some of ANGOTIC 2026’s most talked-about moments.
Rewarding Customers on the Road to the World Cup
One of the highlights generating the most visitor interest was the “Africell Road to the FIFA World Cup 2026” campaign, which rewards corporate customers who subscribe to Africell services with double tickets to World Cup matches, with iPhone 17 Pro devices also available as prizes.
High-Profile Visitors
Africell’s stand attracted several distinguished institutional guests, including the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Oliveira; the First Lady of the Republic of Angola, Ana Dias Lourenço; and former Vice-President Bornito de Sousa.
Innovation at the Forefront
On the technology front, Africell showcased a range of innovations drawing significant attention. AfriGPT – a solution that brings AI capabilities to users via SMS, sidestepping the need for mobile data – was among the most discussed, alongside EVA, Africell’s virtual customer assistant. Visitors also gained insight into the company’s upcoming plans for network expansion, future 5G services, and new connectivity solutions.
Africell Business presented its enterprise portfolio to corporate delegates, introducing solutions including USSD, Bulk SMS, SIP Trunk, APN, and, all of which are designed to support enterprise-level connectivity.
Contributing to the National Conversation
Beyond the exhibition floor, Africell participated in two key sessions: a panel dedicated to Angola’s incipient satellite industry, and “From Technology to Opportunity: How Technology is Changing People’s Lives and Shaping Angola’s Future”, a session that brought together students and young professionals for a wide-ranging discussion on education, entrepreneurship, innovation, healthcare, and digital inclusion.
Looking Ahead
Through demonstrations, discussions and unexpected experiences, Africell – which employs thousands of Angolans and is preparing to expand into new provinces – used ANGOTIC 2026 to emphasise its status as one of Angola’s most dynamic and forward-looking brands.
