Africell has claimed the ‘Best Participant’ award at the 15th Feira Internacional de Benguela (FIB). The prestigious award recognises levels of public engagement with companies’ activations at the annual fair, and Africell Angola’s victory rewards the brand’s investment in building a dynamic and immersive presence at this year’s event.

Africell’s regional director for Benguela Province, Mário do Nascimento, said: “Just as we have shaken up in the wider telecommunications sector in Angola, Africell brought a real buzz to this year’s FIB, demonstrating our point of difference as a mobile brand – from rock solid internet to cutting edge mobile money – while at the same time having fun with our customers and not taking ourselves too seriously”.

Africell’s programming at FIB 2026 included talks, workshops, giveaways, music performances and an e-sports competition, with current and prospective customers given a taste of Africell’s best-in-class connectivity, friendly customer service and creative approach to building a subscriber.

Benguela Province is home to Benguela, Angola’s second biggest city, as well Lobito, a strategically significant deepwater port at the end of the US-backed Lobito Corridor Railway system. Lobito Bound, an original Africell documentary about US investment in the Lobito Corridor, features key scenes in Benguela and Lobito, and is streaming worldwide on Apple TV, Prime Video and other platforms.
