Senior appointment strengthens Africell’s financial foundations and strategy.
Africell has appointed a new group Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Rhonda Wells joins Africell following a career as a senior finance executive in the telecoms sector. She has experience both as a hands-on operational CFO and in group-level finance roles. Most recently, Rhonda was Vice President and CFO of IHS Nigeria, a multi-billion-dollar division of Africa’s leading mobile tower infrastructure company.
Based in Africell’s London head office, Rhonda will be responsible for the overall financial health of the business. Her remit includes major financing decisions, regulatory compliance, accounting, and risk management. Rhonda’s background at a senior level in the African telecoms sector equips her to understand and manage the unique dynamics that Africell faces.

Rhonda’s appointment comes soon after the launch of Africell’s debut public corporate bond. Rhonda’s skills and experience will help Africell build on this milestone by strengthening the company’s financial foundations and executing its financial strategy.

Rhonda is a qualified chartered accountant (ACA). She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bournemouth University and an executive MBA from the University of Edinburgh.
