Africell and NBA Africa have taken their Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA programming to Huambo for the first time, hosting a one-day clinic at the Osvaldo Serra Van-Dúnem Pavilion for 250 boys and girls aged 18 and under.
Participants worked through NBA Fit sessions and on-court coaching in the fundamentals of the game, from shooting and dribbling to passing and defence. Off the court, coaches led sessions on leadership, teamwork and discipline, the qualities that carry young people well beyond basketball.
The clinic adds Huambo to the growing number of Angolan communities reached through Africell’s partnership with NBA Africa, and forms part of a full 2026 calendar of Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA events across Angola and Africell’s other markets.
Since launching in 2022, the partnership has reached thousands of young Angolans through Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA tournaments, clinics and court development projects. It has since grown to include the Democratic Republic of Congo, The Gambia and Sierra Leone, putting structured basketball development within reach of young people in every country where Africell operates.
