Anyone who has spent time in New York during UNGA knows that it is one of the busiest weeks of the year, as movers and shakers from all over the world descend on the BigApple to exchange ideas, establish connections and take decisions that potentially affect billions of people. For Africell, UNGA is a unique opportunity to spend time with many of our most important friends and partners – including, especially, colleagues in the governments of Angola, DRC, The Gambia, SierraLeone and the United States.
Much of UNGA is very dry and serious; but there is always time for a bit of fun too. This year, we were pleased to welcome over a hundred and fifty guests to a party that one attendee described as “by far the best thing” she had done all week. Illuminated by the dazzling lights of Times Square, we enjoyed tasty food and drink, revelled in African culture, celebrated our expanded partnership with NBA Africa, announced the launch of Roamz (our new eSIM product) and gave guests a preview of the many ambitious and creative projects being planned for 2026 and beyond.
