Held on 18 and 19 September 2026 at the National Museum of the DRC (MNRDC), the event covered content monetisation, financial management, podcasting, protecting online businesses, and collaborations between creators and brands. Panels and workshops led by guest speakers, including Africell DRC Director of Partnerships Gracien Idikayi, looked at how creators can professionalise their work and build sustainable business models. Artistic performances and networking sessions rounded off a programme dedicated to a new generation of Congolese online talent.

“Congolese creators are among the most talented and inventive in Africa, and their audiences are growing every day,” said Gracien Idikayi. “As a network built on connecting people, Africell has a role to play in helping creators turn that talent into lasting livelihoods. Creators Bomoko was an opportunity to share knowledge, build partnerships and show what the DRC’s digital generation can achieve.”

Creators Bomoko is the latest in a series of Africell initiatives supporting creatives across its markets. To mark its 25th anniversary, Africell released One Week in… with Pelumi Nubi, a ten-part series following the travel content creator across The Gambia and Sierra Leone, which was shortlisted in the Branded Entertainment category at the Indielab Innovation Awards.

In Angola, the Africell Talent Lab partnered with Papaya Creative Studio on the Luanda Creative Summit, bringing together content creators, industry professionals, brands, agencies and emerging young creatives. In July, Africell’s Galeria 10A hosted Angola in Motion, co-hosted by the Africell Impact Foundation, The Akuna Group (the global media company founded by Sir Idris Elba) and Visit Angola, bringing filmmakers, musicians and artists together to discuss creativity and tourism. Africell also runs a prestigious DRC art prize, Elembo Ya Sika, and an artist residency programme in Angola (Estação Experimental) in collaboration with celebrated local artist collective, KinoYetu.

In The Gambia and Sierra Leone, Africell Learning Centres have run digital marketing courses, giving young people and small businesses practical skills to grow their presence online.
