The Africell Impact Foundation, in partnership with KinoYetu, has launched ‘Estação Experimental’, a dynamic new residency programme in Luanda, Angola.
ABOUT ESTAÇÃO EXPERIMENTAL
Estação Experimental is a three-month residency programme that offers one selected artist, working in any visual art medium, dedicated support, studio space, and mentorship to explore new ideas and develop a new body of work.
Throughout the residency, the artist will work closely with the residency team as well as external mentors, engage with students, and take part in public activities. The residency concludes with a public exhibition at Africell Angola’s Galeria 10A in Luanda.
ABOUT KINOYETU
KinoYetu means “our cinema.” The organisation’s name reflects its mission: to develop initiatives that reaffirm the importance of national cinema while promoting the creation of new artistic languages within Angola’s cultural and cinematographic landscape.
Its values are rooted in artistic appreciation, social transformation, and the development of a new cycle of cultural production. KinoYetu seeks to unite what is most powerful in contemporary Africa: autonomy, art, and production. Its practice is creative, forward-looking, and deeply engaged with both the present and the future.
KinoYetu is an invitation to new possibilities. It believes that art and cinema are tools of social transformation and embraces them as instruments for creating new forms of expression, existence, and belonging. The organisation supports artists in the processes of creation, production, and distribution of artistic work, strengthening networks and expanding access.
ABOUT THE AFRICELL IMPACT FOUNDATION
The Africell Impact Foundation is Africell’s platform for delivering long-term, community-focused impact across all four of its operating markets. Building on Africell’s core mission of connecting people through telecommunications, the Foundation extends this commitment beyond digital infrastructure to strengthen communities through education, creativity, and improved access to opportunity.
A key focus of the Foundation is the support of arts and culture. It works with local artists, creatives, and cultural institutions to expand visibility, improve access to resources, and nurture vibrant creative ecosystems. This commitment reflects the belief that creativity is central to identity, community development, and progress, while also serving as a powerful driver of education, innovation, and economic growth.
